Hand Games

Tamara Montano & Ezra Leoso

Workshop

In this session Tamara Montano (Red Cliff) and Ezra Leoso (bad River) will be teaching Traditional Hand Games. This session will promote healthy connections and remind us that surrounding ourselves in good energy activates healing.  Hand Games is a guessing game where two opposing teams have a set of marked and unmarked bones. You try to guess what hand the unmarked bone is in with certain hand gestures. There are a set of sticks to keep score. The object of the game is to get all the sticks. This session is not gender specific, all ages are welcome to come play. If you have a hand drum or a rattle feel free to bring it, but it is not needed as we have some to use. This game works on communication, teamwork, patience and listening. During this session you will learn to connect your mind and body. You will learn to keep focus with distractions around you. Hand games help to create a sense of belonging and allows participants to express themselves in a healthy positive way. In this session you will work as a team using hand gestures to try to guess correctly or distract the opposing team to guess wrong. This game is Lots of fun. Come sit down, learn and bring your children to play and enjoy some fun prizes.
