Miriam Friesen serves as the State-Tribal Partnership Coordinator for the Children’s Justice Initiative (CJI).  Within that position she acts as program coordinator and project manager for the CJI State-Tribal Partnership grant, which is federally funded by the Department of Health and Human Services.  Miriam also supports the Minnesota Tribal Court State Court Forum, acting as a liaison between the Tribal Courts and the Judicial Branch.  Miriam has worked in the Minnesota Judicial Branch for 11 years, previously as Court Administrator for the Minnesota Court of Appeals and within the 10th Judicial District as self-help center staff and Early Neutral Evaluation coordinator. Miriam earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.
